WASHINGTON, DC - Temple beat George Washington tonight in the Smith Center to secure a first round bye in next weekend's Atlantic 10 tournament. The Owls finish the regular season with the leading record in the eastern division (8-5) of the A-10 Conference. TU took the Colonials with the game scores of 30-25, 30-22, 30-21 leaving GW with a 6-7 record in the A-10 conference.

Senior Jessica Waybrant had an outstanding performance in her last regular season match, posting 11 kills and three blocks. Junior Yue Liu led the Owls with 15 kills while sophomore Patricia Vernon contributed to the team's success with 10 kills and three block assists. Temple bounced back from last night's tough loss with the help of senior Yan Liu's 18 digs and senior Maira Mogollon's 10 digs and 32 assists. Yue Liu helped out defensively with 16 digs.

Kelly Kabbas and Abba Greenleaf both posted nine kills on the night while Juliene McLauughlin and Janine Brown each has 11 digs for the match. Kabbes also had four block assists and libero Maggie Wright played strong defense leading the team with 20 digs.

The Cherry and White finish the season with an overall record of 16-13 and begin Atlantic 10 tournament play Saturday, November 18 at 5:00pm at the Frericks center in Dayton, Ohio.
