NEWARK, DE -- Senior Laura Seiverling was victorious in her final match of her collegiate career, winning the fourth singles match, 6-4, 6-2, to help lead Temple to a 6-1 win over host Delaware on a windy Tuesday afternoon. Seiverling, a native of Hershey, Pa., will continue on with the program as an administrative assistant to head coach Traci Green.
The Owls started the match off sluggishly, dropping the doubles point to fall behind 1-0. Felicia Frazier and Jen Goeta won the number two doubles position for Temple with Delaware posting wins at the first and third slots.
Senior Ana Maslesa swept her opponent, Susan Pollack, at first singles, 6-3, 6-1. Frazier joined Maslesa and Seiverling with a straight set win at sixth singles, 6-0, 6-2, over Kate Ianelli. Goeta won in straight sets as well, 6-4, 6-2, over Liz Perlow in the deciding game of the match.
Yuri Kurashima won a hard-fought three-set match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, over Amanda Campbell at second singles while Sharanya Pattabi took her match at fifth singles, 7-6 (0), 7-6 (5).
Maslesa and Kurashima will represent the Owls (2-0) at the NCAA East Regional held at West Point this weekend.
