LOYOLA MARYMOUNT TOPS TEMPLE, 5-2, IN WOMEN'S TENNIS ::

WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- Loyola Marymount defeated Temple, 5-2, in women's tennis on Sunday morning at the College of William and Mary's McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center. The win improves

the Lions' record to 1-2 on the season, while the Owls drop to 1-2.

Sophomore Ana Maslesa was the Owls' lone singles winner defeating Robyn Baker, 7-6 (3), 2-6, 6-2, at the number two position. Maslesa teamed with senior Danira Penic to win at number one doubles, 8-4, while senior Lara Ercegovic and sophomore Lauren Verrall edged Jennifer Baker and Tamara Tanner, 9-8 (5), to win at number three doubles. That provided the Cherry and White with its only other point of the match.

Both Penic and Laura Seiverling took their singles matches to three sets before falling at the number one and four slots, respectively.

The Owls' next match is Friday, February 20 at Massachusetts.
