Temple advances to face UMass in Sunday's championship game AMHERST, Mass. (May 6) Temple senior Kelly Ruch (Phoenixville, Pa.) scored an Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Championship record four goals and five assists to lead the top-seeded Owls to a 15-9 victory over fourth-seeded Duquesne this afternoon in the A-10 semifinals at Totman Field on the campus of the University of Massachusetts. The victory advances Temple to Sunday's 1:00 p.m. championship game versus UMass at Totman Field. Temple opened the scoring on a goal by freshman Deanna Radcliffe (Collegeville, Pa.). Duquesne tied it up when junior Erin Sakal (Phoenixville, Pa.) scored off a pass from sophomore Katie Harner (Boyertown, Pa.). The Owls regained the lead when sophomore Noelle Cebron (Yorktown, N.Y.) scored at the 24:08 mark. Sophomore Jen Jefferson (Annapolis, Md.) scored to give the Owls a 3-1 lead at 23:49. The two teams traded goals to end the first half with Temple holding a 6-4 lead. Duquesne cut the Temple lead to 6-5 when sophomore Lauren Dutch (Ellicott City, Md.) scored her second goal of the game. Jefferson netted her second goal of the game, and Ruch scored her third and fourth goals of the game to push the Temple lead to 9-5 at the 23:13 mark. The Dukes rebounded with two goals, before Temple scored six of the last eight goals in the game to win 15-9. Temple was led by Ruch's four goals and five assists, and freshman Liz Frengs (Collingswood, N.J.), who scored four goals and an assist. Duquesne was paced by the scoring of Dutch (three goals) and Katie Harner (three assists). Sophomore Kristin Harner (Boyertown, Pa.) and freshman Lauren Mincher (Annapolis, Md.) each added two goals for the Dukes.
