PHILADELPHIA - The Temple lacrosse team (5-4, 1-0 A-10) defeated UMass (5-5, 1-1 A-10) 14-11 in its Atlantic 10 opener on April 4 at Geasey Field.
Senior Deanna Radcliffe (Collegville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led the Owls with six goals. Junior Tiffany Pulaski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown), freshmen Andrea Talese (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and Patty Glavin (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) had two goals apiece. Senior Jessica Yemm (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) and sophomore Megan Condon (Abington, Pa./Abington) rounded out the Temple goal scorers with a goal each. Talese and senior Alli Demas (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) tallied assists for the Owls.
Maura McGarrity and Lydia Robinson led the Minutewomen with three goals apiece. Jada Emery had two goals and an assist, Hope Zellinger Leslie Pollock and Kerri Connerty each added a goal for UMass.
The Owls jumped out to a 9-2 lead in the first half. The Minutewomen stormed back in the second stanza outscoring Temple 9-5 to close the gap.
Next up for the Owls a visit from conference rival Richmond on Sunday, April 6. Game time is at 12:00 noon.
