PHILADELPHIA- Temple extended its winning streak to five with a 3-1 win against Rider Tuesday night. The Cherry and White currently boast a 9-3 season record. Rider drops to 4-4 on the season. The Owls' offense started the first half scoring ten minutes into the game. Junior Mary Catherine Kinneman dribbled the ball to the right side of the field in Broncs territory. Kinneman crossed the ball to the stick of fellow Owl Dannah Brehm, who one-timed the ball into the back of the cage. The goal was Brehm's forth of the season and Kinneman's first assist this year. Just ten minutes later the Owls struck again. Senior Ashley Bird passed the ball to Junior Jamie Adams who placed the ball into the cage. The Owls finished the first half leading the Broncs 8-1 in shots and 6-1 in penalty corners. Both offensive attacks would remain at bay for in the second half until Adams scored her second goal of the game at the 52:42 minute mark. Adams collected the ball of the pads of Broncs goalie Jennifer LoCastro and hit the back of the cage for her second goal of the game and third of the season. With no time left on the clock the Broncs were awarded the last penalty goal of the game. Freshman Margaret Ecke passed the ball to Junior Julie Vaccarelli who stopped the ball for Freshman Lindsay Rajeski's goal. Temple ended dominating the Broncs in shots, 16-6, and penalty corners, 11-5. The Cherry and White will be on the road playing the #2 Maryland on September 30 at 2:00 p.m.
