TEMPLE'S RAHEEM BROCK ACCEPTS INVITATION TO PLAY IN ANNUAL BLUE-GRAY ALL-STAR FOOTBALL CLASSIC

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple senior defensive end Raheem Brock (Philadelphia, Pa/Dobbins H.S.) has accepted an invitation to play in the annual Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic to be played on Christmas Day in Montgomery, Alabama.

Brock (6-4, 257) posted 51 tackles (27 solo), 12 tackles-for-loss, four sacks, one interception for a touchdown, 11 pass break-ups, 13 quarterback hurries, three recovered fumbles and a forced fumble this season. He ranks tied for first in the Big East Conference in fumble recoveries and tied for fourth in passes defended with 12.

Brock played in 37 career games at Temple, making 33 starts. He is the son of former Owl and NFL running back Zachary Dixon. In preseason strength and conditioning testing, Brock recorded a 37.0-inch vertical leap, the best mark on the team.

Brock will be the third Temple student-athlete to participate in the Classic since 1998. Last season, current Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive tackle Mathias Nkwenti represented the Owls. In 1998, current Jacksonville Jaguars' running back Stacey Mack was selected as the game's most valuable player.

The Blue-Gray All-Star Football Classic is the first post season all-star game each year. Proceeds from the Classic go to the Lions Club sight conservation projects and youth charities. This year's game will kick off at 12 noon EST at the Cramton Bowl and will be televised live by ABC.
