Philadelphia, PA- Temple men's crew team win at the Frostbite and Bill Braxton Regatta's. After having back to back race days, the Owls have reason to be excited for the spring racing season. On Saturday the Owls raced two Varsity 8 boats to victory. Area teams such as Drexel, Lehigh, La Salle, and Marietta could not hold off the Owls this weekend. On Sunday they were challenged by Colgate, but were able to hold them off to cross the line .11 seconds ahead. The freshmen/novice "a" and "b" boats rowed into 5th place respectively on Saturday, improved to a 2nd place on Sunday just behind Drexel. The freshmen 4 placed 3rd on Saturday, then crushed the competition on Sunday, winning by 17 seconds. The Varsity 4 placed 3rd at the Frostbite, and 2nd at the Bill Braxton Regatta. The JV 8 also providing another win on Sunday, coming in 12 seconds before Ithaca College. Head Coach, Gavin White was pleased with his team this weekend, and will work hard to prepare for the spring racing season. The Owls will begin their spring season in Tampa, Florida for the Mayors Cup on March 15.
