On Pepe Sanchez...

"Pepe has recognized that, for a point guard, the options are in front

of you. I got on him at one point tonight after he drove a little bit

too far instead of stopping at the foul line and letting the players

filter in so he could have some options. I don't like that kind of play

and he used to do that quite a lot; he doesn't do it too much now...

"Our kids know that there are different ways to operate against teams

who play zone and man-to-man. For the most part, [Lafayette] played zone

and we worked on attacking the zone. We try to ge the ball to the inside

and beat you inside, then outside; that is what we did today. If our big

guys did a better job inside, we would have a better shooting situation.

Karcher tries to position himself in a position where we can depend on

his shooting, but there are also times when we use him under the

basket."

On Temple's Inside Play...

"I think that is important for us. We don't get a lot of scoring out of

our big guys; they are the guys that play defense. Those big guys

normally give us a good effort inside, and we should get a little bit

more."

On Temple's Free Throw Shooting Today (38 percent)...

"I am worried about the guys who were shooting free throws. Lamont

Barnes, who hasn't shot the ball on a consistent basis I'm worried

about, but I'm most worried about my big guys not being able to make a

two-footer. Sometimes we'll have to put four guards on the floor, if

necessary at the end of games."

On Turnovers and Second Chance Points Today...

"I thought it was extremely important. I look at a team like Lafayette

as being very smart and it can be a problem if our team starts playing

with their skill rather than playing with their heads. We didn't have

many turnovers today and that was what was most important. We have won

ugly games before because we are not a great shooting team, but the guys

in the inside missed a lot of shots today."
