The scheduled doubleheader between the Temple Owls (12-15, 5-4) and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies (15-10-1, 4-4) was rained out on Friday afternoon and rescheduled on Saturday at 12 Noon.
The rescheduling of the doubleheader will now push back the single game scheduled for Noon on Saturday to Easter Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The final game of the three-game series was originally scheduled for Noon but both teams have agreed to move the game up to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
As has been throughout the spring, the weather has just not cooperated with the schedule. The Owls have had 11 games either postponed or cancelled thus far. The three-game series between the two teams was just too important to take any chances on having the opening game of the series washed out after only a few innings of play, noting that both teams would be throwing their aces.
Matt Powell (2-4), who has a scoreless streak of 13 innings, was set to take the mound for the Owls while St. Bonaventure penciled in right-hander Kyle Johnson (5-1). The two should square off tomorrow in what should be an excellent pitching matchup.
