Women's Tennis Earns Spot in C-USA Championship Match

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The 25th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs (17-6, 3-1 C-USA) advanced to their third consecutive C-USA Women's Tennis Championship final after defeating fifth-seeded Louisville, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. The win is the team's 15th in a row. A rematch of last year's final, TCU will face No. 1 seed, and 15th-ranked, Tulane on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. CDT. TCU dominated doubles, claiming all three matches for the eighth time this season. The 32nd-ranked duo of senior Saber Pierce and freshman Ana Cetnik defeated Michele Spiess and Julia Hierl, 8-2, at No. 1. TCU's second doubles team of senior Paty Aburto and Karla Mancinas claimed an 8-3 win over Kelly Taylor and Natalie Laszkowski, while junior Paige Brown and sophomore Gloriann Lopez topped Paige Eber and Christina Gogol, 8-2, at three doubles. In singles, the Horned Frogs' Cetnik defeated Hierl, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 4, while Lopez earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Gogol at six. For the second day in a row, Pierce tallied the fourth point for the Frogs as she swept Taylor, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 singles to clinch the 4-0 victory for TCU.
