FORT WORTH, Texas - The 29th-ranked TCU women's tennis team defeated No. 26 ranked Miami on Friday afternoon at the indoor courts at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Frogs won eight of 10 matches, including one extra singles match, to pick up the 5-2 victory. TCU's record advances to 11-4, 2-0 C-USA on the season, while the Hurricanes fall to 8-3.

For the seventh time this season, the Frogs swept all three doubles matches and are now 11-1 when winning the doubles point. 30th-ranked Paty Aburto and Rosa Perez, playing No. 1, easily dispatched Igna DeVilliers and Sara Robbins, 8-1, to win their 20th match of the year. The 51st-ranked pair of Saber Pierce and Leoni Weirich fought through a tie-breaker to win at two doubles, 9-8 (6). Katrin Gaber and Karla Mancinas earned their ninth win of the spring with their 8-4 defeat of Sihem Bennacer and Mari Toro.

The Frogs swept Nos. 1 through 4 singles during the afternoon. Paty Aburto, 99th-ranked and playing one singles, earned a solid 6-3, 7-5 win over No. 53 Mari Toro. At No. 2, 96th-ranked Katrin Gaber topped No. 117 Marcy Hora in short-order, not allowing Hora to win a single game (6-0, 6-0). 112th-ranked Saber Pierce earned her 11th straight-set victory of the season with her 7-6, 8-7 (3) win against Staci Stevens at three singles. The Frogs picked up their fourth win at No. 4 as Rosa Perez fought to a 3-6, 6-4, 10-4 victory over Sihem Bennacer.

Brenna Shackelford and Jessica Pelto played in an extra singles match. Shackelford picked up the 8-0 victory over Pelto.

The Frogs head to Utah for back-to-back matches against Utah and BYU on Sunday, March 17 and Monday, March 18, respectively. The squad returns home to host Oklahoma State on Tuesday, March 26 at Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
