Women's Swimming Announces Three Signings

Nov. 21, 2002

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU head swimming coach Richard Sybesma announced Thursday that three student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to join the swimming program at TCU in Fall 2003. The group, comprised entirely of swimmers from the state of Texas, includes Karen Sandifer (Houston, Texas/Langham Creek), Tara Sullivan (Pearland, Texas/Pearland) and Keleigh Wentworth (Midland, Texas/Midland).

"This is the most talented group of swimmers that we have ever signed in the fall period," Sybesma said. "They are not only quality swimmers, but quality students and people. We are excited to have them join us next fall."

Sandifer, whose brother, Collin, is a junior on the Horned Frogs' men's swimming squad, is a junior national and U.S. Open qualifier in freestyle events. She chose TCU over LSU, SMU, Texas A&M and Villanova.

Sullivan has claimed three-straight regional championships in the 100 and 200 free heading into her final prep season. She is also a junior national qualifier and chose TCU over Missouri, Texas A&M and Washington State.

Rounding out the group is Wentworth, a 2002 junior national finalist and U.S. Open qualifier. She chose TCU over Richmond, Virginia and Villanova.
