FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU Athletics Director Danny Morrison announced on Thursday that women's soccer coach Dan Abdalla has agreed to a multi-year contract extension. This fall, Abdalla coached TCU to its most wins overall and in conference play since the 2003 season. The Horned Frogs also competed in post-season play for the second time in three years by advancing to the Mountain West Conference tournament.

"We are delighted to announce a contract extension for Coach Abdalla," Morrison said. "He is building a terrific program at TCU and we are very excited about the future in TCU Women's Soccer. It's great that Coach Abdalla has made the commitment to be here for many years, and we continue to be excited about the momentum in the program under his superb leadership."

"I cannot imagine a better a place to be than TCU and am excited and grateful Dr. Morrison and Marcy Girton share the vision of what TCU soccer is becoming," said Abdalla. "TCU is a very special place and I look forward to many more exciting years as a part of the university."

Abdalla, who is just the second coach in the team's 21 years of existence, has posted 20 wins in his three seasons at the helm. Overall, he has helped TCU collect numerous honors, including all-conference and national awards this past fall.

His teams have also excelled in the classroom, earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award following the 2006 season, while also having three players recognized as Mountain West Scholar Athletes last spring.

Prior to his three-year stint at TCU, Abdalla coached UNLV to its first NCAA tournament appearance and a Mountain West Conference regular season title.
