M.A.S.H. Unit
For the second straight season, the Horned Frogs have been riddled with injuries. The following is a list of the injuries thus far:
* TCU senior Sherry Dick, a former all-conference player, suffered a career-ending injury after just two games (right knee).
* Senior Brenda DeRose, a two-time all-WAC pick, has not played (lower back).
* Junior Adrianne Jett will miss the entire season (knee and ankle).
* Junior Julie Vaughn has yet to play due to a stress fracture (left shin).
* Sophomore Bara Gunnarsdottir may be forced to redshirt due to injury (right knee).
* Sophomore Cara Toulouse missed the first five games of the year (left ankle sprain).
* Sophomore Stephanie Rassette has been cleared to play in just two games (left shin).
Needing Some More
* The Horned Frogs have scored more than one goal just twice in six matches this season.
Needing A Stop
* TCU, who allowed just two goals in their first three matches of the year (0.67 per game), have yielded nine scores over their last three contests 3.00 per game).
Lone Star Pride
* When the players take the field for today's game, the state of Texas has a right to be proud. In all, 32 players that will suit up for the contest (13 from TCU and 19 from Texas A&M) hail from the Lone Star State.
Good Karma
* Senior Nicole Carman, who had a breakout season in 2001 with a career-high seven goals, is on a scoring tear in 2002. She already has five goals and one assist, meaning she needs just four points to break her personal record for points in a season (14). She had the second two-goal game of her career on Thursday night. Interestingly, both have come against Rice.
Playing Some Good Ones
* No. 8 Texas A&M is the second ranked team that TCU has played already this year. The Horned Frogs lost 3-0 at No. 20 Pepperdine on Sept. 8. SMU, currently rated 22nd, is slated to visit Fort Worth on Oct. 2.
Against the Aggies
* Texas A&M and TCU have faced each other eight times over the years, with the Aggies holding an 8-0 lead in the head-to-head series. Texas A&M, then rated ninth, defeated the Horned Frogs 3-0 in the last meeting, which was in College Station on Oct. 29, 2000.
About A&M
* In the last week, the Texas A&M Aggies played matches against No. 1 North Carolina, No. 2 Stanford and No. 7 California. A&M lost 1-0 to both Stanford and Cal and dropped a 4-1 decision to North Carolina on Friday night. The three-game skid is the first in the program's 10-year history.
