FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU head women's soccer coach Dan Abdalla has announced the Horned Frogs' 2005 schedule. The 17-match regular-season slate includes nine games at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium. Entering their first season in Mountain West Conference action, the Frogs will play five conference road contests and host two league matches, including a date with defending MWC champion, UNLV. The schedule includes five teams which played in the post-season, including a non-conference match with a Texas A&M squad that reached the second round of the playoffs.

"This schedule is a great opportunity for us to see where we are at in the Texas area, playing such schools as SMU, Texas A&M and Rice," remarked Abdalla. "It will also give us the chance to see where we stand with the regional powers as well with schools like Pepperdine and UNLV on the schedule. It will be a challenging schedule but it will give us a good measuring stick for where we want the program to go."

TCU opens up the regular season at home with two contests against Big 12 opponents. The Frogs will welcome Texas Tech to Garvey-Rosenthal on Friday, August 26 and perennial powerhouse, Texas A&M on Sunday, August 28.

The Frogs will stay in the Metroplex as they travel to Dallas for their annual match against the SMU Mustangs on Friday, September 2. On Tuesday, September 6, the Frogs will head to Houston to face former Conference USA foe, the Houston Cougars.

TCU will return home to open up a three-game homestand in mid-September. The TCU Horned Frog Classic will feature Northwestern (La.) State, Boston University and Baylor September 9-11. The Frogs will face Boston University on Friday and will wrap up the tournament with a match against Northwestern State on Sunday. On September 16, the Frogs will host another NCAA tournament team as Pepperdine makes its first trip to Fort Worth.

After a week off, the Frogs will head back to Houston to face their fourth NCAA tournament team of the season as they take on the Rice Owls on Friday, September 23. The Frogs will return home for a match against the Sam Houston State Bearkats on Sunday, September 25. October 2 will mark the Frogs final non-conference match as they host Boise State.

"We will play five of seven conference games on the road which will be a bit of a test for us," said Abdalla. "It will give us a chance to get used to adversity for the long haul. We will very quickly get acquainted with the away venues as we will see six of the seven at some point in the season, which will put our learning curve ahead for future seasons."

TCU will open up its first weekend of Mountain West Conference play on the road as they head to Salt Lake City for a match with the Utah Utes, who qualified for the NCAA Tournament a year ago, on October 6. They will then head to Provo, Utah for a meeting with BYU on October 8.

The Frogs only two home conference games will be October 14 and 16 when they host defending conference champions and Coach Abdalla's former team, UNLV and San Diego State respectively.

The Frogs will close out the regular season with three games on the road. On October 21, the Frogs will make their first trip to Colorado to face Air Force before heading to Laramie for a date with the Wyoming Cowboys on October 23. TCU will wrap up the regular season on October 29 in Albuquerque against the New Mexico Lobos.

Every team is guaranteed a spot in the Mountain West Conference Tournament that is set to take place November 2-5. UNLV will be the tournament host for the 2005 season.
