FORT WORTH, Texas -- The TCU women's soccer team defeated the Oklahoma State Cowgirls 1-0 Sunday evening, August 26, at the Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium in Fort Worth. The match was a scrimmage and does not count toward either team's record.

After a scoreless first half and time winding down in the second, TCU junior forward Nicole Carman dribbled her way in front of the goal and blasted a shot from 10 yards out past an outstretched Kat Doud of OSU. Senior midfielder Tiffany Goetz and freshman midfielder Cara Toulouse were credited with assists on the play.

After the match, TCU head coach Dave Rubinson said of his girls' performance, "We did some good things out there today, but we still need to improve in some areas. I was very happy with the way our girls hung in there and stayed patient."

The Horned Frogs will open the 2001 season on the road next week in Lubbock, Texas, when they face the Texas Red Raiders on Friday, August 31, at 7 p.m. TCU's first home match is scheduled for Sunday, September 2, against the Oklahoma Sooners at 6 p.m.
