The TCU women's golf team has received an invitation to participate in its seventh consecutive NCAA Championships, the NCAA announced Monday. The 2002 NCAA Central Regional Women's Golf Championships will be held May 9-11, at the Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Michigan. Michigan State will serve as the tournament host.

Under coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin, the Frogs have participated in the Regional Championships in each of the last seven years, advancing to the NCAA Championships three times.

"The girls feel very confident going into the regionals, especially after winning the Conference USA Tournament," said Ravaioli-Larkin. "We are playing some good golf right now. Our game plan is to focus on our game, rather than what the other teams are doing in the tournament. If we play our game, then we will have a great chance to advance to the NCAA Championships."

The field for the 2002 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships Central Regional includes: Baylor, Bradley, Florida State, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas State, Kent State, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Purdue, St. Francis, TCU, Texas, Tulsa, UNC-Wilmington and Wisconsin.

The top eight teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 21-24, at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Washington.
