2002 Conference USA Women's Golf Championships

The TCU women's golf team will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi this weekend, April 19-21, to compete in the 2002 Conference USA Women's Golf Championships. The three-day, 54-hole event, will be held at the Hattiesburg Country Club. Memphis is the defending league champion, after winning last year's tournament at the Inverness Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama

Course/Format: The Hattiesburg Country Club Golf Course plays to a par-72 layout of 5,700 yards. Eighteen holes will be played each of the three days with the top four scores of each team counting towards the team total.

Tournament Field: The nine-team field includes: Cincinnati, East Carolina, Louisville, Memphis, South Florida, Southern Miss, TCU, Tulane and UAB.

Head Coach: Angie Ravaioli-Larkin,a two-time conference coach of the year, is in her eighth season at TCU. Ravaioli-Larkin has led the women to one WAC Championship and three appearances in the NCAA Championships. The TCU women have advanced to the NCAA Regionals in each of the last six seasons. Ravaioli-Larkin is assisted by Stefanie Reynolds.

TCU Lineup: Brooke Tull... A sophomore from Georgetown, Tull leads the team in scoring with a 76.2 average... earlier this week, Tull was named the Conference USA Women's Golfer of the Month... she placed 15th in the Ping/ASU Invitational, where she shot a career-best 54-hole total of 222 (74-75-73)... this spring, Tull has five top-20 finishes in six events... her best finish of the spring was second-place at the Texas A&M Verizon MoMorial, where she shot a 36-hole score of 151 (76-75)... last season, Tull finished 17th in the WAC Women's Golf Championships.

Shannon Barr... The junior from China Spring, Texas has a scoring average of 78.0 thru the first nine tournaments... she has a pair of top-20 finishes this season, including a season-best sixth-place finish at the Central District Invitational, where she shot a three-over par total of 147 in the 36-hole tournament... her best 54-hole score of the season came at the Ping/ASU Invitational, where she shot a +10 total of 226 (74-77-75)... last season, Barr finished in a tie for 10th at the WAC Women's Golf Championships.

Lori Sutherland... The senior from DeSoto, Texas is third on the squad with a 78.1 scoring average... she has three top-20 finishes this season, having competed in eight tournaments... she placed 11th at the Texas A&M Verizon MoMorial, 15th at the Rainbow Wahine Tournament and tied for 19th at the Big 12 Invitational... her best 54-hole score of the season came at the Ping/ASU Invitational, where she shot an eight-over par total of 224 (80-70-74).

D'Rae Ward... A true freshman from Weatherford, Texas, Ward has a scoring average of 80.1... she has participated in seven tournaments this season, including four of six in the spring... in the last three tournaments, Ward has a scoring average of 76.8... she placed second at the Rainbow Wahine tournament, her first top-10 finish... in the Wahine tournament, Ward shot a 54-hole score of 225 (74-76-75).

Jennifer Patterson... The senior from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania has a 79.6 scoring average... she has participated in eight of nine tournaments this season... her best finish of the season was a tie for 19th at the Big 12 Invitational... last spring, Patterson tied for 13th in the WAC Women's Golf Championships.

Notes: The Frogs are ranked 27th in the latest Golfweek top-25 poll, the highest of any team from Conference USA... under Angie Ravaioli-Larkin, the TCU women have finished second or higher in each of the last four conference tournaments... since winning the 1998 WAC title, the women have posted three straight second-place finishes in conference tournaments.
