TCU in seventh place after two rounds of Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational
March 18, 2006 AUSTIN, Texas -- The TCU women's golf team shot a 35-over-par 323 to sit in seventh place out of 15 teams after Saturday's second round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club. Final-round play will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com. Catherine Matranga posted the Horned Frogs' top score in the second round, carding a 5-over 77. The Fort Worth native is tied for 21st individually with a 155 (+11). Fellow TCU junior Camille Blackerby is tied for 18th at 154 (+10). Duke's Amanda Blumenherst is the leader with a 2-over 146, one stroke ahead of Texas A&M's Christa Spedding. The top-ranked Blue Devils (604, +28) lead the No. 16 Aggies by one shot. No. 8 Purdue is four strokes off the pace in third. TCU has a two-day total of 626 and is 22 shots behind Duke. The field includes 10 of the top 50 teams in the nation, including the No. 36 Frogs.
