On the Links with Elisa Gomez
March 7, 2006 FORT WORTH, Texas -- Elisa Gomez is a sophomore on the TCU women's golf team. Nicknamed "Popcorn," Gomez is a broadcast journalism major who aspires to be a sportscaster and eventually work for ESPN. Gomez was named to the 2004-05 Conference USA Freshman Team. She recorded an 80.5 stroke average while playing in seven tournaments covering 19 rounds. The Carrollton, Texas, native recorded a career-low par 73 in her first collegiate round of golf at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., (Sept. 13-15, 2004).
