Women's Golf Finishes 11th at NCAA Central Regional

EAST LANSING, Michigan - The TCU women's golf team shot a final round 304 to finish 11th at the NCAA Central Regional Women's Golf Championships. The University of Tulsa shot a two-over par 290 to capture the tournament victory with a 54-hole score of 914. The Frogs finished 24 strokes back with a 54-hole total of 938 for the tournament. Saturday's scores were the best of the weekend for nearly all of the 21 schools competing.
Ohio State and Texas tied for second with three-day scores of 918 each. Purdue was two shots back at 920 to finish fourth, while Oklahoma State shot a 921 for the weekend. Michigan, Oklahoma and host Michigan State rounded out the top eight team qualifiers.
Stacy Prammanasudh of Tulsa captured medalist honors as she shot one-under par on Saturday to finish with a 54-hole score of 219. Seniors Lori Sutherland and Jennifer Patterson led TCU as each player shot a 75 on her final day of competition for the Frogs. Sutherland finished the tournament tied for 19th with an overall score of 232, while Patterson's three-day total of 236 put her in a tie for 39th.
Junior Shannon Barr finished tied for 27th as she shot a final day 76 to give her a three-day score of 234. Shooting a final day 81 and 242 overall Freshman D'Rae Ward earned a tie for 63rd. Sophomore Brooke Tull completed her three days with a 243 total to finish tied for 68th.
The top eight team qualifiers and two individuals not on a qualifying team will now move on to the NCAA Championships, May 21-24 at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash.
