LINCOLN, Neb. (May 10, 2003) - The TCU women's golf team, in search of the team's ninth NCAA Championships appearance and first since 2000, came up short at the Central Regional in Lincoln, Neb., settling into a three-way tie for 12th place. With a 54-hole score of 942 (+90), the Horned Frogs finished eight strokes behind Tulsa, the eighth and final NCAA qualifier from the midwest region.

TCU struggled on a cool, damp, blustery day at the Firethorn Golf Club. The Frogs had a team score of 325, after posting a 312 in the first round and a 305 in the second round, which were both played on Friday. Only Brooke Tull (78) was able to break 80 on a brutal scoring day for the entire 21-team field. Every school in the field posted its highest score of the tournament in the final round. The 21-team scoring average for the third round (326) was much higher than both round one (314) and round two (304).

Tull, the Conference USA Player of the Year, led the Frogs by tying for 20th place. Her three-round total of 229 was 16-over-par. Tull missed the individual cut by five strokes, as the championships field also includes the top two individuals from the non-qualifying teams.

Senior Shannon Barr tied for 44th at the tournament with a 24-over score of 237. Barr, playing her final round as a Horned Frog, recorded an 82 (+11). Her round included the Frogs' only three birdies of the day. Sophomore D'Rae Ward also posted an 82 on Saturday. She claimed a share of 47th position with a three-round 238 (+25).

Freshman Stephanie Godare notched an 83 in the final round. She completed the tournament with a 36-over-par 249 to tie for 89th place. Freshman teammate Traci Robison slipped into a tie for 95th place after carding a 94 in the final round. She had a three-round sum of 254 (+41).

The 29th-ranked Horned Frogs were competing in their eighth straight NCAA Regional. TCU was the No. 11 seed in the region.
