FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Lady Frogs will return to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season, it was announced today on ESPN's NCAA Selection Show. The Lady Frogs received a No. 8 seed, the best in school history, and will face the Indiana Hoosiers in the first round of the East Regional.

The game will be played on Friday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium on the campus of Duke, the top seed in the region. Tipoff is set of 5:06 (CT) and the game will be carried live on ESPN2. The third-rated Blue Devils play Norfolk State in the opening round on Friday night. The winners of the two games will meet on Sunday at 1:06 (CT).

"We're excited to be in the tournament for the second straight year," head coach Jeff Mittie said. "Going to a place that has so much basketball tradition will be quite an experience for our kids. We will face a great first-round opponent in Indiana, who is really on a roll."

The Lady Frogs has posted a 23-6 record in 2001-02, while Indiana, out of the Big 10 Conference, was 17-13. The Hoosiers won the Big 10 Tournament title last week. TCU was the Conference USA regular-season champion after posting a 12-2 loop mark in the school's first year in the league. The Frogs' are currently rated 25th in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll and own an RPI ranking of 25.

Last year's bid was the first-ever for TCU. The Lady Frogs, seeded 11th in the East Regional, posted the biggest first-round upset of the tournament, upending 22nd-ranked and sixth-seeded Penn State 77-75 in Ruston, La. TCU was then knocked out of the tournament by sixth-ranked and third-seeded Louisiana Tech in the second round 80-59.

A crowd in excess of 250 people was on hand to watch the selection show on the TCU campus with the Lady Frogs.
