No. 29 Men's Tennis Dominates No. 64 Charlotte at Conference USA Shootout

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The No. 29 TCU men's tennis team (3-2) rebounded from its disheartening 5-2 loss at Tulsa last weekend with a 6-0 sweep of the No. 64 Charlotte 49ers (1-3) Friday afternoon at the Conference USA Shootout hosted by the Horned Frogs at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center. The Frogs will face No. 41 Tulane (6-1) tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. for the conclusion of the shootout. The Green Wave upset No. 30 South Florida (5-2) in the first match of the day by a 4-2 count. The Bulls will face Charlotte tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. TCU got things rolling in the doubles by claiming the No. 1 and No. 3 slots for the early 1-0 lead. Charlotte managned to pick up a win at two doubles where Jonathan McGovern and Marlo Santoso upended TCU senior Daniel Wajnberg and freshman Jacob Martin 9-8. Martin and Wajnberg are now 0-5 in dual matches this season. The Frogs continued cruising in the singles with five straight set victories at one, two, three, five and six singles. Freshman Daniel Scholten's match with Marlo Santoso at four singles was suspended in the third set with Scholten leading 1-0. By claiming the doubles point today, TCU has now won 28 consecutive matches when winning the doubles point. The last time the Frogs lost a match in which they won the doubles point was in Durham, North Carolina against Duke on March 25, 2000. TCU dropped the match 5-2. Singles
