Swimming and Diving Hosts Notre Dame and Centenary This Weekend
Nov. 14, 2002 FORT WORTH, Texas - In their final home competitions before moving back to the newly renovated Student Recreation Center in January, the TCU swimming and diving squads will welcome Notre Dame and Centenary to the Fort Worth area this weekend. The Horned Frog men will face the Fighting Irish at 7 p.m. Friday at the Wilkerson Greines Pool in Fort Worth. On Saturday, both TCU squads will battle ND and Centenary at the Southlake Carroll ISD pool beginning at 1 p.m. The TCU men (3-3) look to push their record over .500, but face a stiff test versus perennial power Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish come into the weekend with a 2-1 record and fresh off a win last weekend versus Michigan State of the Big Ten. The Frogs and the Irish have a common opponent in Air Force, as the Falcons handed ND its only loss of the season on October 18 and edged TCU 124-119 last weekend in Fort Worth. Riding a six-meet winning streak, the TCU women (6-1) will return to the pool on Saturday. The Lady Frogs will face Centenary while the men will take on both Notre Dame and Centenary. The Ladies and Gents from Centenary both bring 0-2 records into the weekend. For directions to either of the weekend's venues, call the TCU swimming office at (817) 257-7963. |
