The TCU men's golf team carded an opening round total of 289 to tie for 6th place after round one action at the U.S. Collegiate. Texas currently leads the championship with their team score of 278. The event is being held at the Tucson National Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz.

Individually, the Frogs have three competitors in the top-20, and five in the top-30. Andy Doeden and Steve Shuert, who is playing as an individual, both fired an opening round 70 to tie for 11th on the day, while Stephen Polanski shot a 72 to tie for 18th. Adam Rubinson posted a 73 in Friday's round to tie for 24th, and Bret Guetz shot a 74, which was good for a tie for 30th. J.J. Killeen carded a 79 and is currently tied for 56th.

The 54 hole event will continue with second round action tomorrow, and conclude with the final 18 holes on Sunday.
