INDIANAPOLIS -- Former TCU wide receiver Michael DePriest has signed a free-agent contract with the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts.

DePriest is now the third ex-Frog on the Colts' roster, joining defensive end Bo Schobel and offensive tackle Michael Toudouze. In addition, Colts' play-by-play radio announcer Bob Lamey is a TCU graduate.

DePriest is the fourth member of the 2006 TCU football team to reach the NFL. Safety Marvin White was a fourth-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, while offensive lineman Herb Taylor was a sixth-round selection of the Kansas City Chiefs. Deep snapper Jared Retkofsky signed a free-agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

TCU's Gary Patterson has had 16 NFL draft picks in his six-year tenure as head coach with a total of 30 players reaching NFL camps.

A four-year letterman, DePriest totaled 50 receptions for 785 yards and five touchdowns in his TCU career. He averaged 15.7 yards per catch.

DePriest took part in two of the nine-longest pass plays in TCU history. He was on the receiving end of an 82-yard touchdown pass from Tye Gunn in a 48-45 double-overtime victory over Northwestern in the 2004 season opener. DePriest also caught an 84-yard scoring strike from Jeff Ballard in the 2005 Houston Bowl win over Iowa State.

A native of Keller, Texas, DePriest had a 4-yard touchdown catch from Gunn for the winning score in TCU's 23-20 overtime victory against Utah in 2005. The game represented TCU's Mountain West Conference debut while also snapping the Utes' 18-game winning streak.

DePriest had a career-best 19 receptions for 320 yards as a sophomore in 2004. The 82-yard grab against Northwestern was part of three catches for a career-high 125 yards. He averaged a team-best 24.8 yards per reception in 2005 with nine grabs for 223 yards.
