Green Bay Press Conference

FORT WORTH, Texas -- The following notes come after three TCU football players were selected in the 2006 National Football League draft:

•TCU had three players taken: wide receiver Cory Rodgers (fourth round, Green Bay Packers), offensive tackle Michael Toudouze (fifth round, Indianapolis Colts) and cornerback Drew Coleman (sixth round, New York Jets).

•TCU's Gary Patterson has now had 14 players drafted in his five-year tenure as head coach. Included in that total are four wide receivers, two defensive ends, two offensive tackles and one cornerback, defensive tackle, fullback, safety, tailback and tight end.

•The Horned Frogs had the most selections (three) from the Mountain West Conference and were second in the state of Texas, behind only the University of Texas (six).

•TCU had its highest number of draft picks (three) since six Frogs were selected in 2001.

•Rodgers was the seventh pick in the fourth round and the 104th selection overall. In 2004, Frog defensive end Bo Schobel was also the seventh selection of the fourth round (103rd overall by Tennessee).

•Toudouze's selection marked the second straight year a TCU offensive tackle was taken in the fifth round with the 162nd overall pick. In 2005, Anthony Alabi was drafted by Miami.

•Coleman was the first defensive back under Patterson to be drafted since safety Curtis Fuller was selected by Seattle in the fourth round in 2001.
