BALTIMORE, Md. -- TCU offensive tackle Herb Taylor has been named a third-team preseason All-American by NationalChamps.net.

Taylor, one of three Horned Frogs to appear on the 2006 Lombardi Award watch list, was a first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection last season.

A rising senior from Houston, Taylor started all 12 games and allowed just one sack in the 2005 campaign. He was instrumental in TCU surrendering the second-fewest sacks (18) in the MWC regular season.

Taylor was a TCU Player of the Week in the season-opening 17-10 win at Oklahoma. His 36 career starts, representing every TCU game over the last three seasons, are 11 more than the next-closest Frog (Robert Merrill, 25).

TCU is ranked 25th in the NationalChamps.net preseason poll.
