FORT WORTH, Texas - College of Southern Idaho forward Brandon Stores has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for TCU, head coach Neil Dougherty announced today. Stores is a 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward from Youngstown, Ohio.

This season, he helped his team to a 30-7 overall record and a fourth-place finish at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Tournament. Stores averaged 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots per game, while leading the team in starts (30). He also made more than 50 percent of his attempts from the floor (187-for-348). For his efforts, Stores was named second-team all-Region 18.

Stores garnered seven 20-point scoring games and had five double-figure rebounding contests. In addition to three double-doubles, he registered a triple-double with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocked shots against the College of Eastern Utah on March 2.

His freshman year, he averaged 7.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game at Panola Junior College in Carthage, Texas. Stores was a prep star at Cincinnati Christian Center Academy in Ohio, and was rated as the 13th-best prospect in the state coming out of high school.

Stores is the third member of TCU's recruiting class, joining Henry Salter and John Ortiz. Salter, a 6-foot-4 guard from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. was an NJCAA third-team All-American after ranking fourth in the nation in scoring (24.8) and sixth in rebounding (11.8). Ortiz, a 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward, comes from Colby (Kan.) Community College. During the 2006-07 campaign, he averaged 8.3 points and 8.6 rebounds, while blocking a team-high 41 shots.
