A TCU Win Would...
Match the Horned Frogs' longest winning streak of the year (3), which has been achieved on three occasions, most recently from Dec. 27-Jan. 6.
Snap the Frogs' three-game losing streak against the Aztecs and give TCU a 4-3 lead in the all-time season series.
Be TCU's first regular-season-ending win since the 2002-03 campaign.
Getting Hot at the Right Time
Over TCU's past two games, victories over No. 14/13 Air Force and Wyoming, the Horned Frogs shot a combined 51.5 percent (53-for-103) from the field. TCU went 10-for-24 (.417) from 3-point range.
Taking the second half of the Air Force game and the first half of the Wyoming game into account, TCU was an amazing 31-for-47 (.660) from the floor.
The Frogs scored a total of 85 points over those 40 minutes of play (46 vs. Air Force and 39 vs. Wyoming).
Buckling Down
In addition, the TCU defense has picked it up in the two wins, holding Air Force and Wyoming to just 41.2 percent shooting (40-for-97). Included in that total is a paltry 14-for-50 (.280) mark from 3-point range.
TCU also enjoyed a +7.5 rebounding margin and a +4.5 turnover margin in the two games.
Roping the Cowboys
TCU picked up its largest margin of victory since a 21-point win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Dec. 21, 2004.
The Horned Frogs won their eighth straight Senior Night game.
TCU forced 21 turnovers and out-rebounded the Pokes 37-26.
The Frogs held Brandon Ewing, the league's top scorer at 20.3 points per game, to seven points. Brad Jones, the MWC's third highest scorer at 17.8, had 11.
The two combined to shoot 4-for-17 (.235) from the floor. They had 18 points and 13 turnovers.
The Frogs shot 59.3 percent in the first half (16-for-27) and matched a season high with 39 points prior to intermission.
Kevin Langford (24 points) and Neil P. Dougherty (11) had career highs.
It's Not the Size of the Frog in the Fight
Despite being undersized compared to most of their opponents, the Horned Frogs have held their own on the backboards this year, as the team has a rebounding margin of +0.5 this year.
The Frogs have not finished a year with a positive rebounding margin since the 1998-99 season.
The Horned Frogs Against the Aztecs
The all-time series between TCU and San Diego State is tied three games apiece.
San Diego State is one of the two schools in the Mountain West that TCU has at least a .500 record against all time. (TCU is 6-5 against Colorado State.)
The Aztecs have won three straight meetings, including a 76-71 decision in Fort Worth on Jan. 31.
The earlier game this season is one of just two in the series that has been decided by fewer than 12 points (a 72-70 TCU win in 1984 is the other).
