ABOUT THE GAME
• TCU and UNLV will meet on the court for the first time in seven years. The two teams squared off twice in 1999 with each team coming away with a split. The Runnin' Rebels notched a 95-88 overtime win on Jan. 23, 1999 in Fort Worth, while the Horned Frogs returned the favor a month later with a 76-72 win over UNLV.

• The all-time series with UNLV will be played in Fort Worth for the third time with the Runnin' Rebels 2-0 on TCU's homecourt. In addition, UNLV leads the series 4-1.

• Wednesday's contest versus UNLV marks the end of the first schedule rotation for TCU in the Mountain West Conference. The Frogs will begin the second part of their home-and-home series in the MWC at Wyoming on Feb. 8.

• In his second year at the helm of the UNLV program, Lon Kruger is the second head coach in the MWC with NBA experience (New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks). In addition, Kruger is the lone top coach in the league to have taken three different programs (Kansas State, Florida and Illinois) to the NCAA Tournament.

• UNLV currently stands in a tie for second place at 5-2 in the MWC race with Air Force. The two conference losses for the Runnin' Rebels came at San Diego State (83-67) on Jan. 14 and against Air Force at home with a 52-50 decision on Jan. 25.

• The Runnin' Rebels boast four players scoring in double figures with senior Louis Amundson pacing the team with 14.1 points per game. The 6-foot-9 forward also leads UNLV in rebounding with 9.5 per outing, while the other players are averaging 5.5 grabs per outing or less.

UP NEXT FOR THE HORNED FROGS
A weekend break is in store for the Horned Frogs before the team begins the second rotation of the league's home-and-home series. TCU will look to even the score when it travels to Laramie, Wyo., to take on the Pokes on Feb. 8.

LAST TIME OUT: at Utah 80, TCU 45
• TCU got scoring performances from all 10 players as senior Chudi Chinweze tallied nine points, followed by Brent Hackett and Nile Murry with eight apiece.

• Senior Chudi Chinweze paced the Horned Frogs with nine points and seven boards. It marked the second time he has led the team in both scoring and rebounds in 2005-06.

• Junior Femi Ibikunle made his second straight start and 13th of the season as he added two points and pulled down four rebounds.

• The loss at Utah marked just the ninth contest this season that the Frogs fell to their opponents by double-digit points.
