FT. WORTH, Texas -- After wrapping up their first Mountain West Conference road trip last week, the Horned Frogs are back at home to host a pair of games at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. TCU will play host to Mountain West Conference preseason favorite San Diego State at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

In addition, TCU students attending the game Wednesday will receive a free purple tie-dyed basketball t-shirt.

ABOUT THE GAME

• TCU will put its perfect 5-0 mark against MWC preseason favorite San Diego State on the line when the two teams meet on the hardwood for the first time in eight years. It will be the fourth time the game with SDSU is played in Fort Worth.

• As members of the Western Athletic Conference, the two teams faced off twice in 1998 with the Horned Frogs defeating San Diego State both times. TCU cruised past the Aztecs 105-61 on Jan. 17, 1998 in Fort Worth and later notched a 91-69 win in San Diego, Calif., on Feb. 14, 1998.

• The Horned Frogs are SDSU's fifth MWC team on its slate, while the Aztecs will be TCU's fourth conference opponent. The only current league foe TCU and SDSU have in common is Air Force. The Frogs fell to Air Force 75-49 on Jan. 14, while SDSU dropped a 65-62 decision to the Falcons on Jan. 7.


• San Diego State head coach Steve Fisher, who is in his seventh year at the helm of the Aztec program, will be serving as a special guest speaker in the fourth of 10 installments in this year's annual Visiting Coaches' Luncheon Series at noon on game day.

• Four times, the Aztecs have strung together a pair of wins after a loss in 2005-06. SDSU, currently tied for first with a 3-1 record, won its last two meetings. The Aztecs captured a 72-67 win at Utah on Jan. 11, and defeated UNLV at home by an 83-67 score.

• Ten is a number both TCU and San Diego State share in their respective lineups. The Horned Frogs boast 10 players who hail from the Lone Star State, while there are 10 on the Aztec team from California.

LAST TIME OUT (Jan. 14): at Air Force 75, TCU 49

• Judson Stubbs paced the Horned Frogs for the second time this season as he finished with nine points. He also pulled down four rebounds and went 5-of-5 (1.000) at the foul line.

• Stubbs (9) and Brent Hackett (8) fllirted with double-digit points on the night but came up short. It was the first time this season TCU did not have a player score in double figures.

• Sophomore Neiman Owens added seven points, coming within one of tying a career and season high. He also tied a team-high four rebounds with senior Chudi Chinweze.

• All 13 Horned Frogs saw action for the second time this season, including senior David Markley who played in his fifth game while rookie Rob Staky made his third appearance.

• TCU has shot 60 percent or better from the free-throw line 10 times this year as the Frogs compiled a 62.1 clip at the stripe.

• The 26-point loss at Air Force was the second-highest number of points given up to a TCU opponent this season.

LAST TIME OUT (Jan. 11): at New Mexico 56, TCU 54

• The Horned Frogs recorded a 92.3 clip (12-for-13) at the foul line, posting the 10th highest free-throw percentage in a game in school history.

• TCU held New Mexico to under 60 points, making it the sixth time the Frogs have held an opponent under that mark this year.

• Senior Nile Murry paced all players with a game-high 18 points. It is the 10th time this season the guard has led the Frogs in scoring.

• Guard Neiman Owens added eight points to tie a career high that he first set in the season opener against Tarleton State. Owens also dished out three assists and grabbed a pair of rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

• Judson Stubbs reached double figures in rebounds for the fourth time this season as he pulled down 10. In addition, Stubbs came within two points of recording his fourth double-double this year.

• Stubbs, Chudi Chinweze, Brent Hackett and Blake Adams each tallied six points on the night.
