Fort Worth, Texas - TCU pitcher Clayton Jerome became the second Horned Frog to be selected in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday. The senior was drafted by the Texas Rangers as the 10th pick of the 41st round and the 1,221 player taken.

Jerome has been a fixture on the TCU mound for the last four seasons and has rewritten the Frogs pitching record book. This season, Jerome led Frog starters with a 9-6 record and a 4.07 ERA in 110.2 innings pitched. He led the staff with 89 strikeouts and held opponents to a .248 batting average. Jerome ranks second all-time in career victories with 28 and career strikeouts with 312 strikeouts. He is tied for first all-time with 54 games started and holds the record for innings pitched with 386.1 innings. He has a career ERA of 3.56.

Jerome joins Eugene Espineli as the only two Frogs to be selected in the draft. Espineli was taken in the 14th round by San Francisco Giants on day one of the draft.
