FORT WORTH, Texas - Sophomore Anna Vaughn earned a spot on the Academic All-District Second Team, CoSIDA announced today. Vaughn, a 4.0 Spanish major and TCU volleyball's starting middle blocker, last year earned Conference USA Commissioner Honor Roll accolades and the more prestigious Commissioner's Academic Medal, along with C-USA All-Freshman team recognition.

Of the 64 District VI nominees for academic all-district, Vaughn and 17 others were named to the three teams. Only the first team will go on for CoSIDA's Academic All-American consideration.

Vaughn, who averages 3.74 kills per game for the Horned Frogs, earned league recognition for her outstanding play earlier in the year when Conference USA named her player of the week on October 11. Presently, she owns the third highest hitting percentage in the league (.361) and the highest on the team. She also leads the team in blocks and is on pace to have the second-best season attack percentage in TCU history. Her freshman season's attack average ranks first.
