Current and former TCU sprinters recorded outstanding performances over the past weekend as both the United States and Jamaica held their national championship track & field meets.

At the U.S. Championships held at Cobb Stadium in Stanford, California, Darvis Patton, who completed his collegiate eligibility at TCU in 2001, finished second in the 200 meter dash. Patton, who turned in the fastest time in the semi-finals with a mark of 20.15 seconds, was nipped by Raymond Clay in the finals. Clay took the gold medal in a time of 20.27, while Patton was second at 20.31.

In the 800 meters, former TCU standout Khadevis Robinson took the silver medal. Robinson covered the distance in 1:47.58, behind only David Krummenacker, who finished in 1:47.24.

In Saturday's 100-meter dash finals, former TCU legend and U.S. Olympian Jon Drummond captured the bronze medal with a time of 10.04 seconds, behind Maurice Greene (9.88) and Tim Montgomery (9.89).

Meanwhile, in the Jamaica National Championships, TCU sophomore sensation Michael Frater took the silver medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.40 seconds. He finished behind only Dwight Thomas (10.31) and ahead of former TCU great Ricardo "Flash" Williams (10.45). Williams also placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.71. Both the 100 and 200 meter finals were run into a 2.2 headwind. Frater and Williams will compete for the Jamaican National Team at the Commonwealth Games later this summer.
