Eight members of the TCU Flyin' Frogs track & field squad will travel to Atlanta this weekend for the Last Chance Meet, hosted by Georgia Tech, TCU head coach Monte Stratton announced today.

Among those slated to make the trip with the intent of improving their standing for the NCAA Championships are Demario Wesley in the 100, Kimton Coleman in the 200, Terrance McBryde in the 400, Herbert Mwangi in the 5K and Brandal Lawrence in the triple jump. On the women's side, Chaunte Baldwin and La' Toya White will compete in the 100 and Perhona Tomlin will run in the 800.

"Hopefully we can carry over the momentum we built while winning the Conference USA title last weekend," said Stratton. "If the weather cooperates, we could turn in some fast times and maybe improve our standing for the national meet."

The TCU men's outdoor track team moved up five notches after winning the C-USA outdoor meet and are now listed in in a tie for 11th place with Stanford in the latest Trackwire Top 25 outdoor poll. The Frogs are expected to score 22 points in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the most points they been tabbed with this season. The experts are looking for a two-team race between Southeastern Conference rivals Tennessee and LSU. The Volunteers, the defending outdoor champions, continue to lead the poll with 85 points, while LSU, the host school for the outdoor national meet, is second with 62. TCU is the only representative from C-USA in the top 25.

In Trackwire's Dandy Dozen which breaks down the meet by event, Michael Frater is figured to finish fourth in the 100 and sixth in the 200. Demario Wesley ranks 10th in the 100 while Jermaine Joseph is 11th in the 200. The Frogs 4x100-meter relay team is pegged for a third-place finish behind Tennessee and Mississippi State. TCU's freshman sensation Cleavon Dillon is penciled in as the runnerup in the long jump behind LSU's Walter Davis. On the women's side, the TCU 4x100-meter relay team is ranked sixth.
