One of the top recruits in the nation, Jacob Hernandez joins the TCU squad projected as the next standout middle distance runner after an outstanding prep career.
Expected to an immediate impact as a freshman in the 800 meters and on the distance medley relay squad... could also be a candidate for a leg on the 4x400 meter relay squad.
High School
Lettered four times in track & field and three times in football at Magnolia (Texas) High School, graduating in 2004.
Coached in track by David Moore.
Was the 2002 and 2004 Texas 5A state champion at 800 meters and earned runnerup honors in 2003.
Recorded the nation's fastest prep time in the 800 meters in 2004 with a 1:48.48 clocking.
Also competed in the 400 meters, logging a best time of 47.69.
Earned first team all-district honors as a defensive back in football.
