March 22, 2006

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU senior men's diver Kelly McCain has qualified for this week's 2006 NCAA Diving Championships in both the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard events. It is the second straight appearance at the NCAA meet for the Corpus Christi native, who last year, became the first male in school history to compete at nationals.

At the NCAA Zone D Diving Regionals earlier this month, McCain had a pair of top-10 finishes. His best finish was a sixth-place showing on the 1-meter (622.80). In addition, he posted a score of 521.55 on the 3-meter to place eighth.

McCain is the school record holder in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events and was an all-Mountain West Conference first team selection this past season. McCain will compete Thursday and Friday at the championships in Atlanta, Ga. For results of the meet, visit www.ncaasports.com.
