AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore diver R.J. Hesselberg placed sixth in the three-meter dive on Saturday at the NCAA Zone "D" Diving Meet held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.

Hesselberg, a native of Saskatoon, Canada, notched a final score of 590.95 in the men's three-meter diving event, after entering the competition with a preliminary score of 304.05.

Only seven divers are competing at this year's Austin regional, allowing Hesselberg to automatically qualify for the NCAA Diving Championships on March 15-17 in Minneapolis, Minn.

Hesselberg will wrap up this weekend's action with the platform diving event on Sunday at 12:45 p.m.
