Austin, Texas - The TCU swimming and diving team competed at the American Short Course Championships on Saturday in Austin, Texas, at the Lee and Jamail Powll Swimming Center. Senior Craig Chapman and Jonathon Berrettini highlighted the Frogs efforts, as both were finalists in the 200-backstroke.

In the event, Chapman finished fourth as he touched the wall in 1:48.16 seconds. Meanwhile, Berrettini came in with a time of 1:50.34 for a sixth place finish. Olympian Aaron Peirsol won the event with a time of 1:40.14.

Berrettini was also a finalist in the 100-backstroke. The freshman posted a time of 50.53 seconds in the prelims. Later in the finals, Berrettini touched the wall in 50.65 seconds for an eighth place finish.

Sophomore Yousif Del Valle won his heat in the 100-freestyle. The El Paso, Texas, native posted a time of 45.79 to earn the ninth place finish. All-world swimmer Michael Phelps was the champion in the event with a time of 42.53 seconds.

On the women's side, freshman Emily Duerringer came in with the top time of 12 Horned Frogs swimmers that were competing in the event. Duerringer finished in 22nd place as she touched the wall in 52.28 seconds.

In the 200-individual medley, freshman Cameron Allred finished with the 16th best time as he clocked a time of 1:54.54.

The Frogs will return to competition when they send juniors Kelly McCain and Kelly Seely to the NCAA Sectional D Diving Meet in Austin on March 12-14.
