RICHARDSON, Texas-Texas A&M University-Commerce sophomore middle blocker Collen Favaro has been named the Lone Star Conference North Defensive player of the Week for the week of October 17.

Favaro won the honors by finishing up crossover play with 13 total blocks and 44 kills in this past weekend's Crossover tournament play. The San Antonio native had at least four blocks in all three matches played. Her best showing of the series came in the final game against Tarleton State, where Favaro had 5 blocks, aiding in the Lions victory over the TexAnns. Favaro also posted 18 kills with 4 blocks in the 3-2 win over Eastern New Mexico.

This is the second time this season Favaro has received the LSC honors. The first honor was received on the week of Oct. 4, when she was named LSC offensive player of the week. Favaro tied a career high that week with 34 kills in the Lions win over Midwestern State.

Favaro, along her fellow Lions will be back in action on Tuesday, when they take on the Lady Savages of Southeastern Oklahoma State in the A&M-Commerce Field House. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
