Friedman is the third signee for the Lions over six foot and is the second outside hitter in the 2007 recruiting class. She was a two-year starter and letterwinner at Leander High School. As a senior, she led Leander to the district finals and was an all-district selection. Friedman also played for the Austin Junior Volleyball club team, one of the premier club teams in the state, which qualified for nationals in 2006.

"Devin is a wonderful addition to our team. She will add size as well as a lot of national playing experience to our team. I expect her to be a major contributor for us and very early on in her career at A&M-Commerce. Devin as well as Rachel (Lance) and Terra (Ousley) are going to be a fun class to watch."

The Lions open the 2007 regular season in the Southeastern Oklahoma State Tournament, which begins on August 24.
