The Texas A&M University-Commerce athletic department on Thursday night held its annual Athletic Awards Banquet to recognize the achievements of the 2006-07 athletic year and to honor its senior student-athletes.

Senior football player Brody Lipsey was named the recipient of the Jesse J. Hawthorne Award as A&M-C's Outstanding Male Athlete.

Senior soccer player Amber Ramoz along with senior Niki Williams were presented with the Lib Huggins Award as the university's Co-Outstanding Female Athlete.

Senior cross country and track and field runner Niki Williams along with Amber Ramoz were presented with the Lib Huggins Award as the university's Co-Outstanding Female Athlete.

The following student-athletes were honored with the following awards:

Men's Outstanding Cross Country Student-Athlete - Alfredo Soto (Elgin, Texas)
Men's Outstanding Track and Field Student-Athlete - Kyle Thompson (Cooper, Texas)
Women's Outstanding Cross Country Student-Athlete - Niki Williams (Fayetteville, Ark.)
Track and Field Carolyn Burt Award - Niki Williams (Fayetteville, Ark.)
Soccer Outstanding Student-Athlete - Amber Ramoz (Dallas, Texas)
Volleyball Outstanding Student-Athlete - Colleen Favaro (San Antonio, Texas)
Ernest Hawkins Award (Football - Outstanding Offensive Player) - Cliff Edwards (Tyler, Texas)
Bobby Fox Award (Football - Outstanding Defensive Player) - Darvin Peterson (Mesquite, Texas)
J.V. Sikes Award (Football - Presented to the player who exhibits the leadership, attitude, scholarship, loyalty, achievement, and desire necessary to build a champion.) - Brody Lipsey (Celeste, Texas)
Terry Allen Award (Men's Basketball Outstanding Student-Athlete) - Bobby Joshua (Everman, Texas)
Susie Knause Memorial Heart Award (Presented to a women's basketball player for her desire, dedication, leadership and scholarship) - Dawn Montgomery (Irving, Texas)
