Nov. 3, 2005

Final Stats

COMMERCE, TX- The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's volleyball team came up short against the Lady Bronchos of Central Oklahoma, 3-0 (30-9, 30-18 and 30-28) Thursday night.

A&M-Commerce fell behind early in the first game of the match, losing senior Tosha Spain with a injury. UCO held strong well into the second game, as the Lions began to gain momentum late in the match. The ladies worked a 25-23 lead in the final game, but a string of errors put the match out of reach.

Jane Latu had a team high for the Lions with 12 kills in the contest, while setter Alicia Capparelli assisted on 30 kills.

Standouts for UCO were Katie Schult, with a game high of 18 kills, three digs and two blocks. Stephanie Ball was also there for the Lady Bronchos offensively with 37 assists.

The Lions dropped to 9-19 overall and remain 1-9 in the Lone Star Conference North Division with just one game left to play.

A&M-Commerce will resume north division play Saturday, Nov. 5, when they will finish their season at home by taking on the ladies of Cameron University. The game is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. in the A&M-Commerce Fieldhouse.
