On Monday, the athletic department at Texas A&M University-Commerce began a new tradition with its first-ever Fall Sports Kickoff Luncheon. Members of the Texas A&M University-Commerce faculty and staff as well as the staff of the Lone Star Conference office came to Commerce for the first-time luncheon to kickoff the 2007 fall sports season.

Head Coaches Rich Lawrence from cross country, Neil Piper from soccer, Gwen Weatherford from volleyball and Scotty Conley from football provided insights on their season outlooks to the visitors. Texas A&M University-Commerce President Dr. Keith McFarland and athletic director Carlton Cooper as well as Lone Star Conference commissioner Stan Wagnon addressed the fall sports student-athletes as well as the cheerleaders and the visitors.
