The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's soccer team began its preparations for the 2007 season on Wednesday with an intense two-practice session.

The Lions were recently picked to finish third in the Lone Star Conference as they return six starters from a 2006 team that advanced to the finals of the LSC Tournament and was the lone team to defeat eventual national champion, Metro State.

Each of the 11 LSC teams will play the other 10 once during the regular season, with the results of those contests to be used in determining the seeds for a six-team postseason conference tournament. This year's tournament will be hosted by the No. 1 seed on Nov. 1-2-4, 2007.

The Lions will play 10 home games in 2007 including five non-conference games and five LSC games. One of the key home matches will be a contest on Oct. 21 against West Texas A&M at 12 noon.

The 2007 season gets underway on August 25th at the A&M-Soccer Complex, where they will host Southwest Baptist at 12 noon.
