Lions Women's Soccer Picked to Finish Third in the Lone Star Conference

July 30, 2007

Commerce, Texas

The Texas A&M University-Commerce women's soccer team is picked to finish third out of 11 teams in a pre-season poll announced on Monday.

The Lions received one first place vote in the poll. Pre-season favorite Central Oklahoma received 25 of the 28 first place votes. Picked between the Bronchos and the Lions is West Texas A&M, who also received a first place vote.

Each of the 11 LSC teams will play the other 10 once during the regular season, with the results of those contests to be used in determining the seeds for a six-team postseason conference tournament. This year's tournament will be hosted by the No. 1 seed on Nov. 1-2-4, 2007.

The Lions will play 10 home games in 2007 including five non-conference games and five LSC games. One of the key home matches will be a contest on Oct. 21 against West Texas A&M at 12 noon.

The 2007 season gets underway on August 25th at the A&M-Soccer Complex, where they will host Southwest Baptist at 12 noon.
