For the second-straight week, members of the Texas A&M University-Commerce men's basketball team spent the morning visiting a nearby elementary school. On Tuesday, January 15th, the student-athletes visited local A.C. Williams Elementary School in Commerce.

While visiting with the students, the Lions read books to the students and also talked to the students about their roles and responsibilities as a student-athlete.

"We appreciated him (head men's basketball coach Sam Walker) bringing the team members to the school. Our students really enjoyed having the athletes read and visit with them. I feel it is important for our students to interact with the university in this way to help encourage the importance of education," said Kelly Cotton, a teacher at A.C. Williams Elementary School.
